John Galliano: With No More Galliano
Fashion news sites and fashion blogs have all gone into a frenzy as rumors swerved John Galliano would be returning to his namesake fashion house after his legal and rehabilitation problems would be resolved. After the Dior Homme collection on Saturday in Paris LVMH Chairman Bernard Arnault told New York Times’ Cathy Horyn Galliano will not be welcome back to the brand by saying, “He will not be working for LVMH”. For now Galliano’s former assistant Bill Gaytten would take over as creative director for the Galliano brand. Here are some pictures from the show and Gaytten taking the final bow. The collection seemed inspired by the bashed designer with looks resembling Galliano himself. Overall it was very disco pop influence with top hats and slim stripe trousers.

Hey Dior! Where did you go?
After the scandal broke out 4 months ago the fashion house of Christian Dior has not been the same. John Galliano caused an embarrassment and has been living underground or what he prefers to call "rehab". I have very little pity for the designer; he made disgusting antisemedic remarks in a Paris cafe and his excuse from alcohol do not make his actions tolerable.
But my question is, where is the Dior empire now? LVMH (LVMH Moët Hennessy • Louis Vuitton S.A.) announced they were not confirming who would replace Galliano but the expeculation game is always a fun one. From Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci to Alber Elbaz from Lanvin, this could be anyones game. With the Resort shows coming up the house has obviously made a decision to keep the identy of the lucky designer a secret. In the next couple of weeks we will see who got the job and I'm expeculating Tisci got it. Sadly who will take over Givenchy? Tisci's gothic chic has revamped the brand and created a larger new following. I’m not sure how his take on the classic Dior design will influence his dark and sheer fashion but this will be a very interesting one for sure. With only 5 months into the year fashion houses have taken big hits with Balmain, Dior, Chloe all changing creative directors I’m very excited to see the Resort and Spring collections each brand will produce.
