Tom Ford 2011 Fall/Winter Campaign

As you guys might already know I have a great love for anything Tom Ford and his latest fall campaign is not exception. I admire his creative talent as he usually shoots his own campaigns much like Lagerfeld, but this time around he got the help of Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott. You guys might recognize their name from their short lived Bravo TV show. This campaign features Candice Swanepoel for his womenswear collection and fashion house favorite Jon Kortajarena who was has been the face for the brand on and off for many seasons. Kortajarena was also featured in Ford's film A Single Man in 2009.

Tom Ford: Fresh and Dark

This may be the second collection coming from the Tom Ford fashion house, but this seasoned designer takes high fashion womenswear to a whole another level. In this collection the designer gravitates to a darker gothic appeal with fur coats and black lace. The crocodile tote bags, lace knee length boots, strappy jeweled heels and fur accessories really demonstrate the talent of this award winning designer. His high end buyers who seek ultimate luxury will come back to the reigns of former Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent creative director. Ford presents his collection a bit later than the usual fashion crowd, since he feels we are too consumed by the collections a year after we seen it on the runways. I love Tom Ford and by him delivering his look book in a video just makes any fashion fanatic go a bit nuts. I have replayed this video over 10 times already trying to grasp everything.

Tom Ford: Now and Then

Since I first got consumed by the fascination of fashion one of my personal favorite designers has been Tom Ford. This man is hands down the best menswear designer out there and now with his release of womenswear, worn recently by the First Lady Michelle Obama, his craft is truly magnificent. I heard about the interview he did with CNN and I had to share with you guys. He talks about the years he spent working at Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, and also his relationship with YSL himself. Can you believe he used to produce 16 collections a year? A must watch interview!

What Will Michelle Obama Wear?

Earlier today I tweeted wondering who Michelle Obama’s new stylist might be, this all came about after reading one of my favorite blogs “The New York Times: The Cut” where they broke the news of what the first lady wore to the Buckingham Palace Banquet during the presidential visit in London. In the last year we have seen the first lady’s style progress and become more riske, which leads me to wonder who is styling Michelle Obama?

First was the famous Alexander McQueen red dress during the Chinese State Dinner, which in my opinion it got an unnecessary negative backlash and started the question if she changed stylist. The dress was flawless, a great representation of the first lady and her love for Persian fashion. Yes, this might have been a bit daring by not wearing an American designer but that’s old news. The dress she wore to the Buckingham Palace Banquet was another bold choice and one of my personal favorites. Disregard my mild obsession with Tom Ford, but this white gown was truly incredible. She is no longer wearing “Black House/ White Market” and switching to cooler, trendier and may I say fashion forward brands. Now we are on the edge of our seats waiting for what she might be wearing next, and I’m sure she will not disappoint.
