Balmain: In New Hands

The house of Balmain is known for the rock and roll edge Christopher Decarnin created for the brand. Now his former assistant Oliver Rousteing takes reigns of the house as he tries to put his own personal spin to the clothes. With the unusual departure of Decarnin we were left to question how would the brand change, but this collection seems to be a continuation of what we are used to seeing from Balmain. The exotic skin jackets and vest create such an edge in the clothes, I can see any rock star lusting over for. Leather biker trousers, tuxedo trim jackets, and bleached out slim fit denim all work, creating expensive taste and a rock and roll feel. The Balmain homme lovers will be very happy with this collection but I wish Rousteing can find his voice in the mist of his former boss success. I guess we will have to wait for womenswear in a couple of months.
